HOW IT WORKS

How do I hear samples of your work?
Just click on the arrows.  Here are four song backgrounds I programed for vaious artists.  You will hear piano, bass, drums, and strings.  As most computer speakers are inadequate, it's best to use head-phones when listening to these samples.

Can you add horns to the mix?
After playing with tracks for years, I have found that audiences are perfectly okay with rhythm tracks, but when they hear a lot of other stuff, they are usually less accepting.  It's like "Are you kidding?" However, I can add just about anything you wish, if you have the budget.

Can you program any type of music?
I prefer working with American standards, light jazz, classic rock/pop, and country.  Rap, hip-hop, and metal are a little out of my expertise.  However, I would be happy to refer you to programmers that work with those kinds of music.

How much does this cost?

My prices are very reasonable.  Your costs will depend on the number of parts/tracks and the length of the song. Once I get your basic info, I will get back to you with an estimate. Naturally, simple standards in AABA or AB format are less costly than more complex and lengthy songs.  Simple tunes require two to three hours to complete, using four parts (piano, bass, drums, strings or organ).  If you can supply sheet music or the original recording, that will cut down on the time.  My studio rate is $45 per hour.  It doesn’t have to be expensive.  Some acts like to order just one or two tunes per month. At the end of the year they may have enough songs for two sets.  Over five songs per month qualifies for a nicely discounted rate!

When do I pay?

A 50% deposit is required to initialize your order.  Balance is due upon completion of order.  I accept all credit cards.  Your statement will show BrumbleBee Music.

How will my order be delivered?

After programming your arrangement, I will email you a mp3 file that you can listen to on your computer (use headphones).  This is when you get back to me with your requests for different patches, tempo and volume changes, etc.  I will then re-record it and send you a final mp3 which you can transfer to iTunes, iPod, iPad, CD, tape, smart phone, Mini-disc, etc.

Will you keep my info on file?

Yes.  I will keep a file on the specifics of your arrangements for future orders.  Once I know your preferences, new tracks will go much faster.  Once you find a sound combination that you like, you should use the same sounds on every one of your tunes.  That way, you create an identity that people get to know and love.

How do I send you my preferences?

The best way to determine your preferences is by email.  That way, I have a record of your criteria.  Let me

know the song, how many parts, length, genre, etc.  Try to attach a mp3 of the tune and a scanned copy of the sheet music, if you have one.  I will get back to you within 48 hours with ideas and a tentative estimate.  If you decide to go ahead with a project, I accept all credit cards.

Exclusive ownership of tracks

Once your order is paid in full, the custom tracks become your exclusive property and will not be sold to anyone else.  Unlike others, I do not keep a catalog of tracks for sale to the public.  My product is unique, like one-off paintings, or bespoke cars.

Why can't I do this myself?

While many musicians have the knowledge, most lack the wherewithal (equipment, time, and patience).

There is also a considerable learning curve.  I've been doing this for many years and have the experience to make the process go faster.  Your time is valuable.

What if I still have more questions?

Simply email me at corky@brumblebeemusic.comI will try my very best to reply in a timely manner.  As I am recording or teaching most of the time, and can't always answer the phone,  I prefer email contact.
